Wadin, Paul
Born near Thorn (Today’s Torun, Poland) in 1889 and was a ground crew member of the Royal Prussian Fighter Squadron 37 during World War I, which was commanded by Ernst Udet from November 1917 to March 1918. Wadin must also have known Hermann Göring, whom, according to family tradition, he had always considered a "vain fellow". Wadin himself was stationed in Metz at the end of the war. During a visit to the "Military, Defense & Aviation Museums Leeds", Elvira Wadin-Herrmann and her husband informed the staff that they had two photos from the First World War of Jagdstaffel 37. They sent prints to Leeds and received a very nice thank you letter.
